Well, another month is in the books and another great turn out for the ATL Coffee community.
October was a busy month for us, hosting 2 throwdowns this month and having a blast doing it. On October 30th all the ghouls, goblins and witches came forth to show what they’ve got. Taproom Coffee in the Historic Kirkwood downtown played host to all, with a total number of 28 competing, this one was guaranteed to be a blast.
Many baristas fought it out for the loot, John Fogleman fought his way back from the redemption bucket to finally settle on top and take home the first place prize. Taylor Castle managed to make it into the second place spot and following her was Jason Mundie.
Thank you to our judges for volunteering their time, to Taproom for hosting, and to Counter Culture Coffee for supplying the winners with coffee and prizes as well as the coffee for the throwdown. We would also like to thank Kelsey Poteat, a friend of the coffee community, for taking these lovely photos through out the night.
There was also a costume contest where anyone interested could be involved. We had a wide range of entries from a norse warrior all the way to dia de los muertos sisters. We can’t however forget the moment Spiderman made his appearance and gave his best effort to win it all. The winners of the costume contest though were as retro and vintage as it comes. It is hard to beat a classic.
Thank you to everyone that was a part of the evening in anyway, it was a blast and we look forward to seeing you again soon. How soon? How about next week?
