To call this night a success would be quite the understatement. Countless people came together and collaborated to make this night what it was, and we can’t thank you enough to each and every one of you. Apologies in advance for the photo overload, but they’re too awesome not to share.
First off, huge thanks to Octane Coffee Westside for hosting us. You guys provided such an awesome venue for 100+ coffee nerds, all the while serving your customers attentively. Thanks to Elizabeth Chai for taking time to design the most epic poster and t-shirts for each of our 32 competitors.
Counter Culture’s own, Ben Helfen, kicking the night off for us. As you can see behind him, we had quite the set up provided by Octane’s tech-savvy crew. Live feed from streaming to the big screen of each pour so everyone who attended got a look at each cappuccino. Also, a little glance at the prizes there on the shelf. Epic.
Dustin Mattson from Octane Coffee, Chandler Rentz from Batdorf & Bronson, and David LaMont from Counter Culture Coffee, you guys had a tough job as judges, but you were wonderful and we can’t thank you enough!
A few of the happy pourers + thanks to Keelan Lyons, founder of Barista Varietals for also photographing the night and throwing in some of those amazing new BV shirts for the winners!
Crews from the ATL coffee scene showed up from all parts. XKMacarons, Cafe Benz, Land of a Thousand, Rev, Taproom, Octane, Condesa, 5&10, Copper Coin, Chattahoochee Coffee Co., Atlanta Coffee Roasters, Thrive, Dancing Goats, and more all came together to throwdown.
Now to thank our amazing sponsors: Barista magazine, you guys rock. Thank you for the subscriptions, totes, magazines, and shirts for our winners. Baratza, thank you for the amazing Virtuoso grinder! You made our first place winner incredibly happy. Thanks to La Marzocco for your continued support of our events and the awesome prizes you always send our way! Also thanks to Octane Coffee, Counter Culture Coffee, Barista Varietals, Batdorf and Bronson, Hop City Beer and Wine, and everyone else who supports the coffee community in this great city.
Congratulations to all of our winners!
Redemption winner, Randy Harrell of Octane Westside. 4th, Kyle Logan of Octane Birmingham. 3rd, Taylor Castle of Cafe Benz. 2nd, Brandon Camarda of Octane Westside. And our winner, Tyler Brown of Octane Westside! April is TBD, but we will post a date and location this week.
